You may be wondering if I am suggesting that I can do a great John Travolta circa 1977 strut... Not quite. What I am referring to here is my Walk with Jesus. What I try to do to be a better Christian and serve my fellow man as well as use whatever talents I have to praise Him.
I am far from perfect and have certainly not walked the strait and narrow path. I try to do so today, and as my dad has always said, "It's easy to be bad. It's hard to be good." And I know he's right. To go along with that, nothing worth having comes easy.
I have a wonderful wife who helps keep me centered and focused on what really matters in life. She supports me and is better than I deserve.
I have played guitar for more than 20 years. It has always been a passion and my first love. Now, instead of playing in bars for beer & money, I play at Connection Pointe Church on the weekends for God and to help lead the congregation in worship. We rock! For real! You should come out and check us out sometime. If in some way my playing guitar there helps one person make a change, or come back, I would consider that a success and that I am truly serving.
I have played guitar for Greg Frazee & Joe Banua in the past. I no longer travel playing. I stick to the easy gig on the weekend at the same old same old.
I have taught guitar at several different guitar stores over the last 20+ years and really find that I get more out of teaching than I ever imagined. I strongly recommend it to anyone who has a skill or craft they can share with others.
